chartier: Let me get this straight: someone on Motorola’s Android tablet marketing team thought it’d be a great idea to take a swipe at Apple by referencing 1984—a year that, when placed in an Apple context, becomes much more synonymous with a legendary ad for a computer that changed the world? And this is supposed to do Motorola products a good thing?

To quickly summarize, Google Voice is like a layer inbetween your regular cellphone/landline and the outside world. It can block calls, route calls on a schedule, record calls, transcribe voicemails, ring all (or none of your phones)...

On 27 January, Egypt fell off the internet as virtually all international connections were cut following an order from the government. But older technologies proved their worth as net activists and protesters used them to get round the block. Protesters are also circulating information about how to avoid communication controls inside Egypt. Call charge Dial-up modems are one of the most...

Update: The mass in my brain has calcium surrounding it so the MRI could not see beyond it. So now the plan is to get another MRI next month and see if it grows. I’m also waiting on a referral to a nurologist in Scottsdale. The doc says the side effects of my meds will diminish soon and I should be back to normal-ish. Meanwhile the headaches continue and so does the painkillers.
